[00:03:30] Mike Roth AI 9-11-24: This is Mike Roth on Open Forum Villages, Florida. I'm here at the Car Expo with Gary King, owner, operator of All German Motor Works in Leesburg. Gary, what do you think you're going to accomplish here today?

[00:03:50] Gary King: Well, hopefully we'll introduce ourselves to the German and European owners of cars and we can give them an alternative to the dealer servicing centers.

[00:03:59] Mike Roth: That is right here in the Village's area in Leesburg.

[00:04:02] Gary King: That's right. About eight minutes east of Brownwood on 44th. Good. Tell our listeners how long you've had the shop. Opened in 2016. We had a little two bay location here. And then in 2016, 2018, moved to a bigger 10, 000 square foot location. We now have 14 lifts.

14 lifts. Wow. 14, yep. Dealership, scan tools, no clones. So we can do the programming that's needed at most dealers. But yeah, we've grown pretty fast, pretty big in a short period of time.

[00:04:32] Mike Roth: What's the single most common job that you guys do with Mercedes?

[00:04:38] Gary King: Mostly they're servicing the A's and B's services. A lot of people don't really understand what they are.

We try to explain to it. It is pivotal for the car to maintain it running cost effectively with fuel and stuff, having the filters and the oil change on a regular basis.

[00:04:55] Mike Roth: Then the A and B services, when you go beyond that, they recommend that the spark plugs be changed every five years or 100, 000 miles, whichever comes first.

Correct. What do you think about that?

[00:05:06] Gary King: I think that is right, because it's all firing. It's firing for the engine, and the engine needs that spark. To help it's run. And also a lot of the dealers don't tell you, but your rear differential should be done every five years, and it's a $200 service robbery.

Don't quote me on that, but it's a couple hundred bucks, but it's a $5,000 repair.

[00:05:25] Mike Roth: Oh,

[00:05:26] Gary King: so it's actually every five years or 50,000. Get it done, put it in the back pocket. It's finished.

[00:05:32] Mike Roth: Thanks for joining us today, Gary.

[00:05:33] Gary King: You're welcome. Thank you, Mike.

[00:05:36] Mike Roth: Now we're going to take a short break and listen to Dr.

Craig Curtis.

This is Mike Roth and Dr. Craig Curtis. We're talking about Alzheimer's disease. Dr. Curtis, when a individual decides to participate in an Alzheimer's study, are there any inpatient

[00:05:58] Speaker 4: days required? Not in any of the studies or research that I do, but there are research trials out there where patients can spend time.

In an inpatient setting, while taking part in research, but here in The Villages, I am not aware of any. Thank you. You're welcome.

[00:06:26] Mike Roth: This is Mike Rothoff. Welcome to War Room in The Villages, Florida. I'm here with Randy Wolf. Randy, why don't you tell our listeners a little bit about yourself?

[00:06:35] Randy Wolf: Um, I've been studying and teaching nutrition for 50 years. I started doing it when I was a, uh, lawyer and, , and my law career to teach families how to be happier and healthier, especially through diet.

My most recent book, The Single Ingredient Diet, is about breaking away from processed foods and learning to eat whole. Real foods that allow your body to work the way it's supposed to.

[00:07:04] Mike Roth: What do you mean by single ingredient?

[00:07:07] Randy Wolf: The single ingredient is actually food to jettison all the products that have long ingredient lists and go with things just have one label or don't need a label, like an apple or a filet of fish.

It's a simple rule to allow your body to recalibrate itself based on real foods. So, single ingredient diet is where whatever you put on your plate, you've, um, provided it as a single ingredient. You need to get back to real foods to build true health. Our bodies aren't supposed to have all those chemical additives, refined foods, or artificial vitamins.

[00:07:48] Mike Roth: How would, uh, pasta in a pesto sauce rate your world?

[00:07:53] Randy Wolf: There are pastas that are made from a single ingredient, like a hundred percent whole wheat. You will add some tomato paste, or whatever cheese you choose. Instead of getting pasta that has, Five different ingredients, including some additives or a little sugar or a preservative.

You just don't need all those chemicals and they're an extra burden on the body. Eating a lot of processed foods distorts the way we think about our food and our energy levels. So we tend to snack more, looking for the next sugar. My input, the single ingredient is a guideline to not worry about products that have long ingredient lists.

[00:08:38] Mike Roth: And that includes food colorings?

[00:08:40] Randy Wolf: Yes. Very definitely. Back in 1975, I was in a conference at Rutgers University and they were talking about the Feingold diet. He had written some fine books about the food colorings and how they were causing hyperactive kids. The doctors that were talking said that they had seen this in many families.

I didn't have any children yet at that time. I asked the audience, have you noticed what happens with colorings and flavorings for your kids? And they said that half the rarity was stepping up.

[00:09:17] Mike Roth: I noticed what happens when your feet hit sugar.

[00:09:20] Randy Wolf: The colorings are toxic. And California just forbade red number 40.

Now the FDA is looking into that because California is a big market. Right. I'm here in the

[00:09:31] Mike Roth: fridges with senior citizens, many by the years of age or older, up to over 100. And a lot of them still living at home. What would you suggest they have for breakfast?

[00:09:43] Randy Wolf: Eggs, toast, a whole wheat toast. If they want to make the bread themselves or buy bread, every ingredient in there, you should put from your own kitchen.

Okay. Oatmeal is an amazingly, uh, rich breakfast. You can add some nuts, a little butter, some maple syrup, if you want it a little sweeter. Then, and it doesn't have to be expensive at all.

[00:10:06] Mike Roth: We had a pathologist on, on the show a couple of months back who recommended a diet high in barley. She didn't bother.

So you get the, the husk. They tried it. It wasn't bad. I still have it. I had to buy it from Amazon. Couldn't find it in the local stores.

[00:10:21] Randy Wolf: Yes, it's hard to get barley. 2, 000 years ago, there was more barley being eaten than wheat in some areas.

[00:10:30] Mike Roth: If someone's going out for dinner with their friends at one of the local restaurants, What kind of food should they order?

[00:10:38] Randy Wolf: First of all, choose a restaurant where it's not just a pizza place or a hamburger place because those things, they sound good, but there's so many additives in there. Choose maybe a little, a little more upscale, where you can

[00:10:52] Mike Roth: keep pulling. Have an American menu. It's a German, which is a fun kind of menu.

[00:10:57] Randy Wolf: Um, , baked potato, some fresh greens or a little salad and try to get a quality restaurant that is proud of getting local produce or proud of getting wild caught fish because it tastes better. It's much more satisfying. And that's what's really important for mature people is you want to enjoy your food and processed food really lacks flavor.

That's why they have to put in so many chemicals. And I'm going to be 77 in December. So I know that it's important to enjoy every day and to choose your food wisely.

[00:11:38] Mike Roth: So have you written a book?

[00:11:39] Randy Wolf: Yes. The single ingredient diet. It's called the single ingredient diet. Transform your relationship to food in 20, in just 21 days.

And I also have a online live program based on the book and you can get a free training about 13 minutes long if you go to single ingredient diet.

[00:12:00] Mike Roth: Have you seen any results of longevity or your friends or yourself?

[00:12:06] Randy Wolf: Oh, certainly myself. I'm 76 and I have not had any problems. I'm not on any medications and I sleep well.

Uh, I know it works and I've had clients all along in the last 50 years have made huge difference for their children, but also for what do we call ourselves? Elderly? I don't think so. Mature. It makes, yeah, it makes a huge difference. I have a lot of clients in their seventies. It makes a huge difference, especially rebuilding their digestion.

So they have normal processes and keeping their brain clear.

[00:12:39] Mike Roth: Thanks for being with us today.
